Hit The Trail, the R86

To make the most of the event hover over the Information menu header, or in mobile the menu icon, and take a look around all the pages. Pay particular attention to the checkpoint locations and distances between them.

On The Day

Arrive at the Registration Point at least an hour before your start time. Start times are either 10:00 or 12:00. Minibuses run from Tring Train Station. You will collect your number and t-shirt here. Check your details are correct and you're good to go.

About thirty minutes before the start you'll hear the whistle and runners and event officials move to the start, about a ten minute walk to Ivinghoe Beacon.

After the race briefing (AKA the sermon on the mount) you'll be on your way. Remember all roads are open, you're responsible for your own safety and you're running under UK Athletics Rule of Competition.

Course Map

The map shows the overall route plus the checkpoint locations. Zoom in on the checkpoints to see exactly where they are. The notes accompanying the markers show the time runners must pass through them to remain in the race.

The course route and profile can be found here.

Maps and Waymarkers

The course is waymarked throughout with dedicated Ridgeway Signposts.

The dedicated checkpoint pages show the actual checkpoint locations along with information on car parking and facilities.

There are nine checkpoints along the route providing food and water. You have access to your drop bag at checkpoint 5, Goring.

Harvey Ridgeway Map is recommended should you wish to carry one.
